The Vuelta Ciclista a España 2017 will be held from Saturday 19 August to Sunday, September 10, 2017 and will have 21 stages, with a total route of around 3 297.7 kilometers.

The 72nd edition of La Vuelta Ciclista will start, for the third time in its history, from abroad. The round will start from the French city of Nîmes, and two stages will be played entirely in Gallic territory. We will also tour Andorra, which will host an arrival and a stage departure.

BONIFICATIONS

The race maintains the same bonus format, which will award with 10, 6 and 4 seconds to the first three of each stage, respectively, and with 3, 2 and 1 second to the first runners to go through each intermediate sprint.

POINTS

In addition to being leaders of the general, cyclists also fight for the classification by points or for being the best climbers of each edition. The points are awarded according to the following system: it obtains 25 points for the first classified stage, 20 the second, 16 the third, 14 the fourth, 12 the fifth and then from 10 to 1 between the sixth and the fifteenth. The intermediate sprints reward with 4, 2 and 1 point to the first three cyclists in overcoming each one.
