10 tips to take your bike in winter

brrr…. It’s a little cold, isn’t it? It’s almost springtime but I’m sure many of you take your bikes to work/university/school every day despite the harsh winter. That’s why today I’m bringing you my 10 tips on how to ride your bike in winter.

To start with, open your closet and think about what you’re going to wear:

TIP nº 1: Choose a coat that protects you from the cold, wind and rain. It’s important that it’s long so it covers you when you lean forward.

TIP nº 2: Remember to choose elastic and dry-fibre clothing below. Avoid cotton, wool and synthetic fibres.

TIP nº 3: Do not wear jeans as they are not at all comfortable. Wet weather will only make your ride hell and when the wind blows you will remember this advice. On our website you have a very attractive solution.

TIP nº 4: Use shoe covers for your feet to prevent them from getting wet.

TIP nº 5: As for the hands, use waterproof gloves and avoid cotton ones.

TIP nº 6: Use a hat or scarf for your head. You can change your helmet pads for thinner ones. And never forget your helmet! It is also important to wear sunglasses to help you see when the whole landscape is snowed in.

Then take a look at your bike:

TIP nº 7: Check the pressure of the wheels as well as the brakes.

TIP nº 8: During the winter there are fewer hours of sunshine, take a look at the lights as well.  It’s important to see in the dark, but more important is that they see you.

TIP nº 9: Use mudguards to avoid getting dirty or wet at home.

TIP nº 10: ENJOY!

I hope these 10 tips have served you well, and see you in the next article.
